Kate Middleton’s brand new portrait has hit the scene and it’s causing more commotion than a corgi in a teacup!
In a twist no one saw coming, British-Zambian artist Hannah Uzor has immortalized the Princess of Wales in a painting inspired by Kate’s cancer diagnosis video message. Talk about an unexpected muse! This majestic masterpiece is gracing the cover of Tatler Magazine and it’s safe to say it’s got everyone talking, but maybe not in the way they’d hoped.
Unveiled on social media, the portrait has sparked reactions hotter than a scone fresh out of the oven. Die-hard fans of the future Queen took to Instagram under @tatlermagazine’s post to voice their royal disapproval. And boy, did they not hold back!
One particularly perturbed fan commented, “This is no resemblance [of] her at all.” Another added with a snort, “Lol! Looks absolutely nothing like her, though!” Clearly, some fans are still searching for the punchline in this royal joke.
The consensus from the peanut gallery? “No resemblance.” Ouch. One commenter even got all Sherlock Holmes about it, questioning the very existence of artistic judgment: “What a terrible terrible portrait of the Princess of Wales!!! Who allowed that to be on the front cover??? Even published by Tatler!!!”
It’s safe to say this royal portrait has left the kingdom’s art critics royally unimpressed. Perhaps next time, they should stick to selfies!
