Kate Middleton, the world’s most glamorous chaperone, has officially raised the bar for school trips—sorry, PTA moms!
The 43-year-old Princess of Wales joined a gaggle of schoolchildren on a field trip to the National Portrait Gallery’s brand-new Bobeam Tree Trail, which sounds fancy but is probably just a bunch of trees that got an official name.
The lucky kids from All Souls Church of England Primary School didn’t just get a regular, boring ride to the gallery—they got a royal bus ride, because Kate Middleton was on board! Imagine expecting an average Tuesday and then BOOM—you’re sitting next to the future Queen of England. One particularly lucky kid, a little girl named Grace, even held Kate’s hand as they walked in, instantly making her the envy of the entire class (and let’s be honest, half the country).
“For the children, it was just so magical,” gushed teacher Alix Ascough, who was possibly just as starstruck as the kids. “It was an awe and wonder moment.” (Translation: ‘I am never topping this as an educator.’)
And Kate didn’t just wave regally from a distance—oh no. She sat on the bus with the kids like a normal human, probably chatting about the important things in life: snacks, cartoons, and why PE class is actually unnecessary. “She was so relaxed and animated, and it just felt really natural,” the teacher added.
Honestly, future field trips are doomed. What’s going to top this? A surprise visit from Beyoncé? The kids will never accept a normal school outing again.
