Jon Voight, the legendary actor and father to the equally legendary Angelina Jolie, is weighing in on his daughter’s opinions about Israel and Palestine. And boy, does he have some thoughts!
In a chat with Variety, the spry 85-year-old spilled the beans, saying he thinks Angie has been “brainwashed by antisemitic people” and “force-fed propaganda like it’s a buffet special.”
“She’s been marinated in propaganda. Dunked in it. Angie’s got ties to the U.N. and loves to play the spokesperson for refugees, but I’m telling you, these people aren’t refugees,” Jon declared, probably with the kind of dramatic flair only an Oscar-winner could muster.
But don’t worry, Jon’s got a soft spot for his daughter. “I love my daughter — that’s numero uno. I do a happy dance when Angie’s happy,” he confessed. At this point, Variety noted his eyes getting all misty, like a Hallmark movie. “When she’s having a rough patch, I’m having a rough patch. When she’s down, I’m down,” he added, probably reaching for a tissue.
Jon and Angelina once had a falling out that could rival any Hollywood drama, but they’ve patched things up. Who says family reunions aren’t magical?
Jon also chimed in on his support for his buddy, Donald Trump. Apparently, about 25 celebrities have joined the Trump Train for the 2024 election. “I’m Hollywood’s loudest Trump cheerleader. I’ve been shouting from the rooftops that he’s the one and only answer. Maybe now, people will look at ol’ Jon Voight differently. If Trump’s being revealed like this, perhaps they’ll see a supporter like me in a new light,” he mused. And as for President Joe Biden’s debate performances? Jon didn’t hold back. “It’s a travesty, all the performance-enhancing drugs and steroids they’re pumping into him.”
