Jeremy Allen White is spilling the beans about his co-star Ayo Edebiri, and it’s more heartfelt than a bear hug from a grizzly.
At the glitzy season 3 premiere of their Emmy-winning show *The Bear* on Tuesday (June 25), Jeremy, 33, was positively beaming as he raved about Ayo, 28, who’s swapping her actor’s apron for a director’s chair this season.
“It was the best,” Jeremy gushed to Variety, probably while trying not to trip over a rogue boom mic. “I wasn’t acting on her first day; I was just lurking around the set like a proud stage mom.”
“I can say she did a beautiful job,” he continued, likely with a dramatic swoon for effect. “She was very confident, I mean, everyone knows how smart she is. She’s a stunning actress and has the intuition of a psychic. Now, she’s a stunning and intuitive director, too. Who knew?”
Ayo, meanwhile, chatted with Deadline about her directorial debut and it sounds like it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
“I cried,” Ayo admitted, possibly while clutching a box of tissues. “The script was like a tear-jerker Hallmark card, written so beautifully. I was incredibly moved and touched that Chris [Storer] thought of me to direct it.”
She added, “I could see it as soon as I read it,” proving that Ayo has x-ray vision when it comes to scripts.
So mark your calendars and stock up on snacks because season 3 of *The Bear* premieres June 27 on FX and Hulu. It’s going to be a wild ride, and you won’t want to miss a minute of the drama, laughter, and maybe even a few tears (bring tissues, just in case).
