Jason Momoa is out here making all our comic book dreams come true! The Aquaman hunk—sorry, former Aquaman—just confirmed that he’s currently filming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, where he’ll be playing everyone’s favorite intergalactic biker-bounty-hunter with major “I smell like motor oil and bad decisions” energy: Lobo.
The 45-year-old human tank stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (March 17) in Hollywood to chat about his many projects, because apparently, the man never sleeps.
Jason was technically there to promote A Minecraft Movie (yes, that’s a real thing, not an AI-generated fever dream), which hits theaters in April. But, of course, Jimmy Kimmel had to pry some juicy details out of him about his new DC role.
“I’m right now working on Supergirl, yeah,” Jason casually confirmed, as if he wasn’t about to break the internet with that sentence.
When asked about playing Lobo, Jason practically burst with excitement, saying, “[I] have every Lobo comic. He was my favorite. I thought I was gonna be playing Lobo when Zack Snyder called me!”
Apparently, back in the Batman v Superman days, Jason assumed he was about to go full space-biker mode. “They needed to have a villain in there, and that’s the only guy that can, you know…” he trailed off, probably realizing that explaining Lobo’s chaotic energy to normal humans is like trying to explain taxes to a toddler.
Basically, Jason Momoa has been manifesting this role for years, and now it’s happening. Somewhere, a motorcycle just started itself out of sheer excitement.
Watch the full interview below, and prepare for Jason Momoa to make Lobo the most lovable space-wrecking menace of all time.
