‘Heretic’ Trailer Has Hugh Grant Play A Dangerous Game With Two Missionaries

Buy Me A Coffee

A24’s latest spine-tingler, *Heretic*, is about to land in your nightmares, and it features none other than Hugh Grant in a role that’s creepier than your aunt’s Jell-O salad at Thanksgiving!

Let’s break down the plot: Two fresh-faced missionaries, played by Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East, are out doing their good deeds, spreading the holy word. But things take a wild turn when they knock on the wrong door. Instead of a friendly chat about faith, they find themselves face-to-face with Mr. Reed, played by Hugh Grant. Now, if you thought Grant was charming in romantic comedies, wait until you see him as a diabolical villain! Picture him with a sinister grin, inviting you in for tea, but the tea is actually a deadly game of cat-and-mouse. These poor missionaries have to prove their faith while trying not to become the main course in Mr. Reed’s sinister dinner party.

Oh, and did we mention the poster? It’s out now, featuring a blueberry pie candle. Trust us, after watching the trailer, that candle will make so much more sense. It’s not just a random prop; it’s a clue! (We think. Or maybe it’s just A24 being delightfully weird as usual.)

*Heretic* is set to creep into theaters on November 15. Mark your calendars, grab your nightlights, and prepare to sleep with one eye open. Check out the trailer below and remember: knocking on strangers’ doors is overrated!
