Finneas, the mastermind behind many of Billie Eilish’s hits, has officially embarked on his solo journey. Yep, the guy who’s been her right-hand man (and sometimes literal hand-holder) during nearly every tour of her career is now striking out on his own. And while Billie is out there conquering the world with her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, Finneas is prepping for his own world domination in January 2025 with For Cryin’ Out Loud! The Tour.
So, how’s the sibling duo holding up with this seismic shift? On Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast (because where else would you discuss your deepest sibling feels?), Finneas got real about the split.
“It’s bittersweet,” he confessed, which is basically code for “I love my sister, but hey, I need my spotlight too.” He explained that pulling double duty—doing his own tour while moonlighting on Billie’s—just wasn’t humanly possible. “I can’t be in two places at once,” Finneas admitted, clearly unaware that fans expect him to defy the laws of physics.
But don’t cue the violin just yet. Finneas is actually vibing with Billie’s new setup. “I’ve seen the show a few times, and it’s incredible. Honestly, it doesn’t suffer at all because I’m not there,” he said. Translation: Billie is thriving, and Finneas is low-key relieved he’s not lugging around a keyboard.
Of course, he’s still a doting big brother. “I call her constantly,” he revealed, which probably means Billie gets bombarded with texts like, “Drink water” and “Do your stretches.” Finneas even offered to drop everything and play roadie if she ever feels lonely on tour. Now that’s sibling goals.
And just in case you were worried about a total sibling rift, Finneas will be opening for Billie this Saturday at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. It’s like a family reunion, but with way better sound mixing.
Oh, and if you’re not content with just hearing Finneas sing, you can now catch him acting in Peacock’s new series Laid. Yes, the man does it all—writes hits, tours the world, and now graces your TV screen. What’s next? Stand-up comedy? (Actually, we’d pay to see that.)
So mark your calendars, buy those tickets, and prepare for a world where Finneas and Billie occasionally tour separately. It’s bittersweet—but mostly sweet.
