Diplo, the 45-year-old beat maestro known for making crowds go wild, is now making headlines for a whole different kind of drop. In a move that’s got everyone’s eyebrows doing the worm, Diplo’s been hit with a lawsuit for allegedly spinning some very private records without permission.
According to the legal remix reviewed by Billboard, the lawsuit comes courtesy of a mystery woman rocking the pseudonym Jane Doe – because, let’s face it, “I’m Suing Diplo” is a bit too catchy. Jane claims that while their relationship was consensual, Diplo turned into a covert cameraman, filming their private jam sessions from 2016 to 2023. She was cool with the filming, assuming the footage would stay in the DJ’s vault. Little did she know, her trust was about to be scratched like an old vinyl.
Fast forward to last year, and someone slides into Jane’s DMs with a message more chilling than an Arctic Monkeys’ concert – they’ve got the intimate content from her time with Diplo. That’s when Jane did what any sensible person would do: she hit pause and contacted the New York Police Department, sparking an investigation hotter than Diplo’s summer hits.
In her court-side mix, Jane’s aiming to get compensation for the emotional and physical scars she says are courtesy of Diplo’s alleged digital indiscretions. The legal docs state she’s fighting to ensure no one else has to endure the same privacy remix and mental mash-up.
As for Diplo, he’s been quieter than a muted microphone. Neither he nor his team have responded to Billboard’s calls for a comment – maybe they’re all busy remixing their alibis.
Stay tuned, because this saga is far from over. We’ll keep you updated faster than Diplo drops a beat!
