Dave Grohl is gearing up to duke it out with some Swifties … because he’s throwing shade at Taylor Swift, suggesting she might not be singing live at her concerts.
The Foo Fighters’ frontman hit the stage at London Stadium on Saturday night, just a stone’s throw (okay, 25 miles) from Wembley Stadium, where Taylor has been dazzling fans with her “Eras” Tour all weekend.
Check out the clip … DG kicks things off by name-dropping T-Swift’s “Eras” Tour, which gets a chorus of boos from the crowd. Dave then quips that the Foo Fighters should rename their tour the “Errors” Tour because, hey, they’ve botched enough gigs on this road trip.
Then, Dave takes a playful jab at Taylor … saying mistakes are inevitable when you actually perform live — a not-so-subtle dig suggesting Taylor might be lip-syncing. The crowd eats it up and applauds. Why Dave’s throwing shade at Taylor is anyone’s guess, especially since he was singing her praises back in 2015, even dedicating a song to her at a festival.
Maybe Dave’s just trying to get some laughs, or maybe there’s some real beef brewing. Meanwhile, Taylor isn’t losing any sleep over Dave’s jabs. She’s living her best life in London, bringing her beau, Travis Kelce, onstage during her third and final Wembley show on Sunday.
We’ve reached out to Grohl for a comment, but so far, radio silence. Looks like this pop-rock showdown is just heating up. Grab your popcorn!
