Charli XCX just stormed the Grammys stage, and honestly, we’re all just lucky to be alive to witness it.
The 32-year-old pop anarchist strutted onto the stage at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night (because the Grammys can never be held in a venue with a normal name) and proceeded to detonate a musical bomb of pure Brat energy.
Decked out in what can only be described as the most avant-garde Canadian tuxedo known to mankind, Charli gave us a mash-up performance of “Von Dutch” and “Guess” – two bangers from her critically chaotic yet universally adored album Brat.
But wait, there’s more! Because a Charli XCX performance isn’t complete without a squad of fellow it-girl disruptors. Enter: Grabbriette, Alex Consani, and Julia Fox (who, in a cosmic coincidence, was also celebrating her birthday – possibly the most on-brand thing to ever happen at a Charli performance).
While Brat tragically didn’t snatch Album of the Year (a crime for which we will be demanding a formal investigation), Charli did waltz home with three trophies:
🏆 Best Recording Package (because aesthetics matter)
🏆 Best Dance/Electronic Album (obviously)
🏆 Best Dance Pop Recording for “Von Dutch” (the return of Y2K fashion is officially validated)
And because fashion receipts are crucial, Charli was draped in vintage Christian Dior lingerie (yes, a bra and panties moment at the Grammys) topped with a Dior jacket, belt, and a Courrèges coat. Basically, she was dressed like the world’s most stylish time traveler from 2004, and we loved every second of it.
Brat era supremacy remains undefeated.
