Cate Blanchett And Sacha Baron Cohen Star In Trailer For ‘Disclaimer’

Buy Me A Coffee

The official trailer for the upcoming Apple TV+ series Disclaimer has dropped, and it’s more thrilling than finding an extra fry at the bottom of the bag!

Starring the powerhouse trio of Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, and Sacha Baron Cohen (who apparently agreed to show up without any outrageous costumes this time), this psychological thriller unfolds over seven parts—kind of like your favorite TV series, but with a lot less laughter and a lot more “Oh no, did they just do that?!” moments. And guess who’s pulling the strings? None other than Alfonso Cuarón, the guy who probably has a few Oscars lying around like they’re old DVDs. He’s not only writing and directing every single episode but also executive producing, which means he’s basically the boss of all things Disclaimer. Oh, and Cate’s in on that action too—because why not take on multiple jobs?

Here’s the scoop: We meet Catherine Ravenscroft (played by the fabulous Blanchett), a journalist whose job is to dig up dirt on everyone else, like a professional gossip hound. But things take a wild turn when she receives a novel from an anonymous author—who definitely isn’t sliding into her DMs—only to find out that she’s the star of the show! And not in a good way. The book reveals all her darkest secrets, like that time she forgot her husband’s birthday. Cue the dramatic music!

As Catherine races against time to figure out who’s spilling her beans—because you know, family drama is like her favorite soap opera—she has to confront her past, which is just as awkward as running into your ex at a party. Meanwhile, her husband Robert (played by Cohen) and son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee) are just trying to survive the emotional rollercoaster.

Also gracing the screen are Louis Partridge, Leila George, Hoyeon, and Indira Varma, who’s likely reading the script and thinking, “What did I sign up for?”

Mark your calendars because Disclaimer is set to kick off with the first two episodes on Friday, October 11th, on Apple TV+. After that, it’s new episodes every Friday—because what’s better than a thrilling binge-watch to end your week?

Oh, and just a month ago, the cast strut their stuff on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival, probably wearing sunglasses indoors because, you know, celebrity. 🎉🍿✨
