Beyonce’s Rep Shuts Down Rumor That She’s Performing At The Democratic National Convention

Buy Me A Coffee

If you were dusting off your “Single Ladies” dance moves for the Democratic National Convention, it’s time to put those high heels back in the closet. Word on the street is Beyoncé is not coming to save the political day after all.

Multiple news outlets (who clearly forgot to ask Queen Bey’s rep) started fanning the flames of excitement, claiming that she’d make a surprise appearance during the final night of the DNC. Picture it: Thursday night, August 22, United Center in Chicago, filled with hopeful fans expecting Beyoncé to drop in, probably by parachute, in a glittery outfit, belting out “Freedom” as Kamala Harris fist-pumps in slow motion.

But, alas, all those hopes just got “Irreplaceably” placed out by none other than Beyoncé’s rep, who casually strolled in like, “Um, excuse me. What performance? Beyoncé? Never heard of her.” Okay, that’s not exactly what they said, but the rep did shut it down, cool as a cucumber, saying, “Beyoncé was never scheduled to be there.” In other words: “Y’all got played.”

Still, there’s a glimmer of hope for those craving some celebrity sparkle! There are whispers that another mystery guest might drop in, and the Swifties are already on high alert, hoping for a Taylor Swift cameo. Maybe she’ll come in like a “Cruel Summer” and cool down those overheated Beyoncé rumors.

Moral of the story: Unless you hear it from the queen herself, don’t start rehearsing your concert screams just yet!
