Alicia Keys just proved—yet again—that she’s the ultimate hype woman. The 44-year-old icon hit the stage at She Is the Music’s Women Sharing the Spotlight event on Thursday (March 27) at The Peppermint Club in Los Angeles to shower Gracie Abrams with some serious love. And let’s be real, if Alicia Keys gives you a standing ovation, you’ve officially made it.
Why? Because Gracie, 25, is out here running her career like a boss with a 100% all-female team. That’s right—her squad is giving “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” but for the music industry.
Alicia’s Sermon on the Power of Women
Alicia, being the poetic legend she is, took the mic and basically turned it into a TED Talk on why women should run the world (Beyoncé would be proud).
“When I found out she has, like, 40 women on her team… I was like, YES! This is what we mean when we say ‘walk the walk.’” Alicia preached. “Because it’s one thing to tweet about it, and it’s another thing to actually do it.”
She didn’t stop there. “This all-female-led team is still an exception in this business, which is WILD. So let’s be clear: we belong in every room, at every table, and at the head of it too.”
Someone get this woman a presidential campaign.
Gracie Drops Some Wisdom (And a Margaret Mead Quote)
Gracie, in full inspirational mode, took the stage to accept her honor and hit us with some serious words of wisdom.
“It’s an interesting time to be a woman in America,” she started (understatement of the century). “The way we survive and thrive is by sticking our necks out for each other—especially when it’s difficult.”
Then, she dropped the ultimate mic drop moment, tweaking an iconic Margaret Mead quote:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed WOMEN can change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Somewhere, Margaret Mead just nodded in approval.
Bonus Award Alert: Gracie Wins Again!
As if one major honor wasn’t enough, just two days later, Gracie walked away with another trophy: Billboard’s 2025 Songwriter of the Year Award.
The woman is on fire.
Meanwhile, Alicia’s Still Collecting Awards Too
Let’s not forget—Alicia isn’t just out here handing out flowers, she’s still stacking up her own trophies. Just last month, she picked up the Global Impact Award at the Grammys, where she clapped back at those trying to erase DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). Spoiler: She’s not having it.
And that’s on QUEEN ENERGY.
