Evan Peters has popped up in the most chaotic way imaginable. The 37-year-old master of “Wait, what just happened?” reprised his role as Ralph Bohner from WandaVision β and yes, the name still makes everyone giggle. This time, he materialized in a throwback scene with Joe Locke and Miles Gutierrez-Riley, leaving fans everywhere gasping, βWait… wasnβt that…?β
In a new interview, Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer spilled the mystical tea on Evanβs unexpected return, the Easter eggs he brought to set, and even promised more jaw-dropping moments for the showβs final episodes. Grab your cauldron, things are brewing!
“Agatha, Evan, and Chaos β A Package Deal!”
On SiriusXMβs The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw, Jac revealed that having Evan back was always part of the master plan. βI mean, if itβs Agatha, you have to have songs, costumes, and obviously Evan Peters,β Jac said with a grin, like a kid who knows where all the candy is hidden. βI love working with him, heβs hilarious, and letβs be real β we had unfinished business with his character.β
Apparently, theyβve known for ages that Evan would play the βexposition dumpβ β but, like everything Peters touches, this βboring backstoryβ role got upgraded to βwildly entertaining chaos.β βI mean, remember how in WandaVision we had that whole βSurprise! This isnβt a sitcomβ moment? Yeah, I wanted to do that again because, frankly, it was too much fun the first time.β
Plot Twists Served Hot and Confusing
Jac kept the energy going, hinting at the intricate narrative structure they designed β like a jigsaw puzzleβ¦ but the pieces are scattered across alternate realities. βThe first couple episodes are kinda their own bubble. Itβs like, βOh, cool, this is Mare of Easttown for witches.β Then, boom! You realize itβs all part of something bigger.β
She even admitted that figuring out Evanβs character as the βavatar of the backstoryβ came from one of those lightning-bolt moments β although she canβt remember who had the idea. βIt mightβve been me. It mightβve been one of my writers. Who knows? But weβre geniuses. All of us.β
Witch Spray and Creepy Rattles: Evan Being Evan
According to Jac, Evan didnβt just show up and read lines. Nope! The man brought weird energy β and the fans loved every second of it. βThe witch spray? That was all him. That unsettling rattle noise? Also him. He showed up for one day, was totally in character, and then poof! He was gone, like a mystical breeze.β
Apparently, Jac barely saw him on set because things were moving so fast. βItβs like, one second heβs there, the next heβs vanished like the last donut at a cast party. And somehow, we managed to keep it a secret! Honestly, thatβs the real magic.β
More Secrets, More Shenanigans
With just three episodes left, Jac teased that the best is yet to come. βThere are definitely more secrets. Not a billion β Iβm not Santa Claus β but there are things nobody will predict,β she said, with the same mischievous grin Agatha probably wears before doing something regrettable.
Jac likened the showβs surprises to Christmas morning, with one special gift saved for later. βItβs like, you unwrap everything, think youβre done, and then bamβyou find out thereβs one more present hiding behind the couch. Thatβs what weβre going for.β
With Evan Peters back in the mix, witch spray in hand, and narrative rugs waiting to be yanked out from under us, Agatha All Along is gearing up to be one wild broomstick ride to the finish. π
