Travis Kelce is stepping up his game—and it’s not just on the football field. The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end, known for catching passes and dodging tacklers, has been catching some Hollywood attention too! Earlier this summer, Kelce made headlines when he practically begged for a cameo in the sequel to the classic golf comedy, Happy Gilmore.
“Did you know there was an open casting call for Happy Gilmore 2?” Travis asked on his New Heights podcast. “Me neither, but if there’s a spot for an extra, or even a human prop, I’m your guy. Just let me be anywhere near Happy Gilmore or Adam Sandler. Seriously, I’ll sweep the floors, clean the golf clubs, whatever!”
Fast forward to this week’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Adam Sandler himself confirmed that Travis Kelce is indeed part of the sequel’s lineup.
“We’re gearing up to shoot it in New Jersey,” Adam revealed, sporting his signature grin. “Yeah, we’re about to start in a couple weeks. It’s gonna be huge!”
Sandler couldn’t resist teasing a bit more about the project. “We worked our butts off on the script. People have been begging for a Happy Gilmore 2, and I was like, ‘Nah, I’ll just mess it up.’ But then my buddy Tim Herlihy and I got together and came up with this idea. We’re pumped!”
When asked about cameos, Jimmy Fallon zeroed in on the topic of Travis Kelce. “Oh yeah,” Adam confirmed with a chuckle. “Travis is gonna be in it. He’s a big guy, literally and figuratively. Super cool and hilarious. You’ll love him. He’s got the charm of a rock star and the charisma of a golden retriever.”
As for the rest of the cast and the plot, those details are still a secret. But if you remember the original, where Happy Gilmore was a hockey player with a serious golf swing and an even more serious attitude, you know the sequel’s gonna be one wild ride.
So, keep your eyes peeled and your golf clubs ready—Happy Gilmore is back, and this time, he’s bringing friends!
