1923 Season 2: Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren Are Back to Wrangle Your Heartstrings (and Livestock)

Buy Me A Coffee

1923 is saddling up for a second season! Yes, Hollywood’s favorite grumpy grandpa, Harrison Ford, and Dame Helen Mirren, the reigning queen of “don’t mess with me” stares, are back to bring the drama, the grit, and probably some frostbite to your screens.

Paramount+ dropped a double dose of excitement this Thursday (December 5) with teaser trailers, first-look photos, and—drumroll, please—the premiere date. Spoiler alert: your February 2025 just got a lot more intense.

The Drama in Montana: What’s Cooking on the Ranch?
Season two’s synopsis is giving us Survivor: Dutton Ranch vibes. Apparently, a “cruel winter” rolls into Montana, and it’s not the kind that inspires cute snowball fights and Instagram-worthy hot cocoa moments. Nope, this one brings “unfinished business,” because what’s 1923 without a healthy dose of ominous tension?

Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) are once again battling harsh conditions and equally harsh people who are hell-bent on ending the Dutton dynasty. Meanwhile, their fearless nephew Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) is racing back home like it’s an old-timey version of Fast & Furious. His mission? To save his family—and let’s be real, probably wrestle a bear or two along the way.

And what’s a Montana melodrama without a trans-Atlantic love subplot? Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) is out here doing her own version of Eat, Pray, Love, minus the carbs and meditation, as she crosses oceans to find Spencer. Long-distance romance is so last season; now it’s all about risking hypothermia and shipwrecks for love.

The Star-Studded Cast: Who Else Is Showing Up?
Joining the chaos this season are Game of Thrones alum Jerome Flynn (hopefully less brooding, more yeehaw), Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, Timothy Dalton, and Jennifer Carpenter. Basically, it’s a talent-packed cast, and at least one of them is bound to end up dramatically yelling into the snowy wilderness.

Mark Your Calendars: Premiere Date & Watch Party Prep
Circle Sunday, February 23, 2025, on your calendar, and prepare for the emotional rollercoaster that is 1923 season two. Paramount+ has got you covered for all your ranch-fueled drama needs.

12/15: Episode 102
12/22: Episodes 103 & 104
