Zendaya has officially defied space, time, and wardrobe laws once again.
After slaying the actual Met Gala red carpet in a white suit so crisp it probably had its own LinkedIn profile, our 28-year-old Queen of Euphoria (and basically the MCU’s only functioning brain cell) said “BRB” and then re-entered the fashion arena at Casa Cipriani at the unholy hour of 4:00 A.M. in a whole new look. That’s not fashion — that’s wizardry.
We’re talking a red-hot dress, feather boa (because obviously), and heels so high they were probably in a different tax bracket. She looked like Jessica Rabbit if Jessica Rabbit had a Vogue cover and Zendaya’s cheekbones.
Now, remember — this year’s Met Gala theme was “Tailored for You,” which basically meant a big ol’ love letter to menswear and suits. It also marked the opening of the Met’s new exhibit “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” inspired by Monica L. Miller’s brainy and brilliant book Slaves to Fashion. So yes, it was an evening celebrating tailored fits, Black excellence, and the kind of sharp dressing that could cut glass.
And then here comes Zendaya, gliding into the after party like she’s hosting the Oscars and closing the Victoria’s Secret runway all at once. It’s 4AM. Most of us are chewing on cold pizza or sleep-crying into our duvets at that hour, and she’s out here giving feathered final boss energy.
Moral of the story: Zendaya didn’t just attend the Met Gala. She hosted the prequel, the sequel, and the after credits scene.
