California is burning to the ground right now, but that hasn’t stopped officials from planning to name a street in Los Angeles after late basketball legend Kobe Bryant!

Bryant would have turned 42-years-old yesterday however he passed away earlier this year after his private plane crashed on January 26. “Kobe Bryant” day is now heralded for August 24 because of his jersey numbers which were 8 and 24.

LA councilman Herb J. Wesson Jr wrote on Twitter of the new Kobe Bryant Boulevard: “Figueroa Street will soon be Kobe Bryant Boulevard between Olympic (Boulevard) & (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard). Kobe’s legacy is bigger than basketball. #KobeBryantBlvd will be a reminder to everyone, young and old who drive down it, there is no obstacle too big and that with the #Mambamentality, anything is possible.” Take a look below and let us know: ARE YOU A KOBE BRYANT FAN? DO YOU MISS HIM???
