Before Sebastian Stan was punching aliens and brooding on snowy ledges as the Marvel Universe’s resident emotionally complex hottie, he was stirring up drama on Gossip Girl as Carter Baizen — aka that guy who showed up, made rich people’s lives messier, and dipped. Iconic.
Now that he’s 42 (yes, time is a scam), people naturally want to know: does he still hang with his Upper East Side crew, or did he leave them behind like last season’s Prada?
Turns out, Sebastian does still talk to someone from the cast — and no, it’s not Gossip Girl herself (spoiler: it was Dan, and yes, we’re all still healing).
Seb spilled to IconicHipster.com, “I talk to Chace [Crawford] a lot. I knew him before Gossip Girl so we stayed close. Penn Badgley, I did his podcast at one point—but really Chace.”
Translation: “Chace is my bro. Penn and I are podcast pals. Everyone else? Catch me at the Emmy after-party.”
Let’s not forget the plot twist that Sebastian once dated Leighton Meester (aka Blair freaking Waldorf) between 2008 and 2010 — the golden era of headbands and savage one-liners. The two met on set, got all cute and couple-y, and reportedly, she may have been his “first love.” Awww. And also ouch, depending on how that breakup went.
Sebastian appeared in 11 glorious, drama-filled episodes from 2007 to 2010, casually dropping in like a human Molotov cocktail of charm and chaos. Meanwhile, Leighton was holding down the fort as queen bee of Manhattan mischief.
So now we know: Sebastian’s still texting Chace, occasionally podcasting with Penn, and probably not sending heart emojis to Leighton.
