Ryan Gosling is back, and this time, he’s shooting for the stars—literally.
The 44-year-old walking daydream (and also Oscar-nominated actor, but let’s be honest, that’s the secondary flex here) touched down at CinemaCon 2025 to hype up his latest adventure: Project Hail Mary, a sci-fi extravaganza so ambitious even NASA is like, “Good luck with that.”
Gosling was joined by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, aka the guys who somehow turned LEGO into an emotional cinematic experience. If anyone can make intergalactic loneliness hilarious and heartwarming at the same time, it’s these two.
The movie, based on Andy Weir’s best-selling novel, follows a totally regular dude who suddenly gets told, “Hey, you might just be the guy to save the universe”—which sounds suspiciously like how most Ryan Gosling movies start.
“It’s an insanely ambitious story that’s massive in scope, and it seemed really hard to make… and that’s kind of our thing,” Ryan shared, with the confidence of a man who once made us believe in jazz (we haven’t recovered).
He then added, “This is why we go to the movies. And I’m not just saying that because I’m in it. I’m also saying it because I’m a producer… which means I’m definitely saying it because I’m in it.”
Project Hail Mary—also starring Sandra Hüller and Milana Vayntrub—blasts into theaters on March 20, 2026. That gives us just enough time to emotionally prepare for seeing Ryan Gosling in space. 🚀
