Widely-celebrated Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, 81, has unfortunately passed away due to the coronavirus!

Takada founded the brand Jungle Jap in the early 80s which later became KENZO! He also started the luxury home-and-lifestyle brand K3 in January 2019. An official report about Kenzo’s death courtesy of WWD reads: “His death was announced by K3, the luxury homeware and lifestyle brand he had introduced last January, almost 50 years after founding fashion brand Jungle Jap, which later became known as Kenzo. The designer left his namesake fashion brand in 1999, after it was acquired by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, but he continued to support the brand under several creative configurations.”

Takada was born in 1939 in Himeji, Japan, and showcased his first fashion designs in Paris back in 1970! He then launched Jungle Jap which became Kenzo Homme in the 80s, which was followed by KENZO Jungle and Kenzo Jeans…send Kenzo’s family your well-wishes during this tragic time and let us know: DO YOU OWN ANY KENZO CLOTHING???
