Perrie Edwards, the 31-year-old songbird who croons “Forget About Us,” has spilled the tea on her ex-bandmate, Jesy Nelson, the 33-year-old diva behind “Bad Thing.” These two used to tear up the stage together as part of the UK’s girl group sensation, Little Mix. But alas, Jesy decided to moonwalk out of the group in December 2020, leaving fans and probably a few goldfish heartbroken.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Perrie took a trip down memory lane and revealed the current status of their once sparkling friendship.
“We don’t talk, and haven’t done for a long time,” Perrie confessed, likely while dramatically staring out a window. “It’s really sad, it’s heartbreaking. But sometimes these things happen and people decide they want to part ways, and that’s absolutely fine. I would rather it went differently, but you can’t control how things go.” She probably threw in a hair flip for good measure.
Perrie also dished on a legendary night out with Jesy post her breakup with Zayn Malik. Brace yourselves.
“Our glam could sometimes take four hours, so our call time was 4am or 5am,” Perrie revealed, as if prepping for a royal coronation. “I remember Jesy and I were having the best night, and kept saying, ‘We really should be getting home now.’ It was just so fun. We ended up rocking up to [UK talk show] Sunday Brunch after a McDonald’s and we were still drunk. We were giddy and delirious.”
A tale of friendship, breakups, and tipsy McDonald’s runs. Who knew being a pop star could be so… relatable?
