Duchess Meghan Markle, 36, was all smiles for Queen Elizabeth’s Annual Birthday parade, however many spectators were not a fan of Meghan’s fashion choices, with some calling the look completely “inappropriate.”
Meghan joined the Royal Family for the festivities in London while showing off her shoulders in a dress by Carolina Herrera and an oversized Philip Tracy hat. The ceremony was attended by military troops who marched through Buckingham Palace Square while onlookers cheered on.
Critics on Twitter lashed out at Meghan however, with one user writing: “Off the shoulder is inappropriate day wear at the Trooping or any official engagement.” Another said: “I do feel her choice of an off the shoulder dress was pushing it for HRH Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday celebration. I have a feeling she’s going to push the limits a little too much?!” Many were quick to defend the new Duchess however, with one user writing for example: “Oh the humanity!! The crown is experiencing such unrest with two barely visible shoulders. Stop it!!” Take a look at Meghan’s dress below and let us know if you think it was inappropriate for the occasion:
