49-year-old LION actress Nicole Kidman just said that she couldn’t help but feel maternal towards her co-star Dev Patel while filming their new film!
Kidman, who plays Dev’s adopting mother in the film, says about Dev: “I was maternal to him. I was pretty much in character playing the role in the sense that I had my own children there, I was working with little Sunny who plays young Saroo, and then big Dev.”
She continued: “I’ve gotten to know Dev, the man, separate from Saroo in terms of just recently promoting the film. I really just related to him as a mother working on the film, I would stroke his hair, touch his face and hold his hand. He kind of just gave permission for that, which was terrific. That’s how I primarily related to him during the shoot. I also think now you’ll see Dev as a leading man. Not as an Indian man, not as anything other than a leading man and I look forward to watching his journey into all of that now. I think he’s displayed that in this.”
