Netflix just dropped a sizzling trailer hotter than your Wi-Fi after a binge session! Laura Dern, the queen of all things Oscar-y and dramatic (yes, she’s 57 and still serving looks that could stop traffic), and Liam Hemsworth, the dude who survived The Hunger Games but now faces something even riskierโloveโare about to make your screen steamier than your morning coffee.
In their upcoming masterpiece, Lonely Planet (coming soon to a Netflix near you), Dern plays a mysterious novelist with a bad case of writerโs block. Apparently, typing โOnce upon a timeโ wasnโt cutting it, so she packs up her pens, her woes, and heads to… drumroll… a fancy-pants writer’s retreat in Morocco. You know, because when you’re stuck on chapter one, what better way to cope than to jet-set across the world?
Enter Liam Hemsworth, whoโs basically there to make all our lives harder by being absurdly handsome and, oh yeah, young. What begins as an innocent โOh hey, you dropped your notebookโ soon spirals into one of those “somebody light a candle” kind of love stories, complete with life-changing decisions and plenty of meaningful glances into the distance.
This potential tearjerker (or nose-snorter, depending on how much wine you’re sipping while watching) comes from Susannah Grant, a mastermind of both writing and directing, because why stop at one talent when you can have two? And guess what? Thereโs a fantastic supporting cast too! Youโll see Diana Silvers (the one you recognize but canโt quite place), Younรจs Boucif (who youโll google after the movie), Adriano Giannini (someoneโs European heartthrob), and Rachida Brakni (whose name sounds like luxury and intrigue combined).
So, mark your calendar, Netflix-and-chillers! October 11th is the day Lonely Planet drops, and youโll want to be emotionally prepared for all the “I didn’t know I needed this” moments that Dern and Hemsworth are about to serve up. And maybe have tissues. Or snacks. Or both.
