The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has just dropped the deets on its latest inductees, and it’s a list that’s going to blow your mind! Get ready to rock out to some serious tunes!
First up, we’ve got the one and only Missy Elliott, who’s not only made it into the hall of fame in her first year of eligibility, but has also made history as the first female rapper to achieve such an honor. Give it up for Missy, y’all!
And that’s not all, folks. We’ve got a whole bunch of other musical legends joining Missy on the hallowed halls of fame. We’re talking about Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, and The Spinners. These guys are the real deal, and they’re here to rock your world.
But wait, there’s more! The ‘musical influence award’ is going to the one and only DJ Kool Herc, who’s been breaking new ground in the world of music since before you were born. And the ‘musical excellence award’ is being presented to none other than the Queen of Funk herself, Chaka Khan, along with Al Kooper and Bernie Taupin. These guys are the real MVPs, and we’re lucky to have them in our lives.
And if that wasn’t enough, we’re also honoring the legendary Don Cornelius, the host of ‘Soul Train’, with the Ahmet Ertegun Award. This guy was a true pioneer, and we’re honored to pay tribute to him in our own small way.
So mark your calendars, folks! The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is going down on November 3 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. And if you’re not there, you’re seriously missing out. We’ll see you there!
P.S. And if you’re wondering how Missy Elliott responded to the news, here’s what she had to say: “I am thankful to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for choosing me for induction. I hope this will inspire other young women to achieve their dreams and goals in the music industry. Thank you again to everyone who supported me along the way!” You go, girl!
