Former basketball star Michael Jordan, 53, was left IN TEARS as he was honored by President Barack Obama at The White House earlier today with THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM.
Obama said in a speech about Jordan: “He’s more than just an logo, more than just an internet meme. He’s more than just a charitable donor or a business owner committed to diversity. There is a reason you call somebody ‘the Michael Jordan of’… and they know what you’re talking about, because Michael Jordan is the Michael Jordan of greatness. he is the definition of somebody so good at what they do, that everybody recognizes it. That’s pretty rare.”
THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a US civilian! Other stars that received the honor today included the likes of Diana Ross, 72, and Tom Hanks, 60. Watch Jordan break-down below:
