46-year-old ‘Mr. Wrong’ singer Mary J. Blige is opening up about her disastrous marriage to her former manager Kendu Isaacs.
Blige said at the Essence Festival in New Orleans last week that the 13-year marriage began to make her feel like she was NOTHING. Mary proclaimed: “Mentally, you’ve been beaten down and manipulated, in front of the world. You’re trying to protect the person. You’re trying to hold yourself together, so when you’ve been beaten down mentally, you go home, and you deal with that . . . I was beginning to think I was nothing.”
Mary continued to say that she is a human being first, also telling the moderator: “Being Mary J. Blige, the celebrity, is secondary. I’m a human being first. I suffer like everybody else.”
