38-year-old ‘This Is Us’ actress Mandy Moore is opening up about having an unmedicated birth when she gives birth to her second child this coming fall – as Mandy and husband Taylor Goldsmith are expecting a boy.
In a new interview with Today Parents, Mandy opened up about having a rare medical disorder called immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) which prevents her from taking medicine while giving birth. Mandy said: “My platelets are too low for an epidural. It was awful. But I can do it one more time. I can climb that mountain again. I wish medication was an option — just the idea of it being on the table is so nice. But we’ll just push forth like we did last time.”
Her current son Gus, 17-months, was welcomed by Mandy and Taylor without an epidural. Take a look at Mandy’s full interview with Today Parents here and let us know what you think!
