The staff even grew more incensed when they found out that a non-unionized group of workers were hired to film episodes from Ellen's home; this despite Ellen LYING on-air and saying: "my staff and crew. I love them, I miss them, the best thing I can do to support them is to keep the show on the air." A spokesperson for 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' says that it's solely due to social distancing measures that regular staff were replaced; stating: "Due to social distancing requirements, technical changes in the way the show is produced had to be made to comply with city ordinances and public health protocols."
