Kelly McCreary, aka Dr. Maggie Pierce, is saying peace out to Grey’s Anatomy after nine long and successful seasons! cue the dramatic music
In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, the 41-year-old actress said, “After nine seasons, I am saying goodbye to Maggie Pierce and her Grey Sloan family. It has been a tremendous honor to be a part of such a legendary television institution as Grey’s Anatomy.” Aww, we’re gonna miss you, Kelly!
But don’t worry, Kelly is excited for what the future holds, and we’re excited to see what’s next for her! She added, “Playing Maggie Pierce has been one of the true joys of my life, and I leave with profound gratitude for every step of this journey. I am excited for this next chapter, and what the future holds.”
We can’t believe it’s already time to say goodbye to yet another Grey’s character! First, Ellen Pompeo, and now Kelly McCreary! Who’s next, Shonda Rhimes?! We hope it’s not McDreamy, because we can’t handle that kind of heartbreak again.
But seriously, Kelly, thank you for bringing Maggie to life and for gracing our screens with your talent and wit. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
