Marcus Grey and two co-authors say that Perry stole DARK HORSE from a 2009 Christian rap song they did under the name Flame, and today a nine-member jury in Los Angeles agrees with them after a seven-day trial!

Katy’s lawyer says that ruling in the plaintiff’s favor will have implications for other artists in future copyright claims: “They’re trying to own basic building blocks of music, the alphabet of music that should be available to everyone.” Katy Perry and Dr. Luke, one of the song’s writers, say they’ve never heard of JOYFUL NOISE or Flame before the trial.
