39-year-old ‘Empire’ star Jussie Smollett has just been sentenced to 150 days in jail for staging a “hate-crime” back in 2019. He has also been given 30 months of felony probation and has to pay restitution to Chicago together with a fine of $25,000.
Today Jussie was found guilty on charges that he staged the incident after a hearing held in Chicago, IL.
Jussie spoke after the sentencing and made sure that nobody believed he was suicidal, saying: “I would just like to say, your honor, I am not suicidal.” He added: “I am innocent and I am not suicidal. If I did this then it means I stuck my fist in fears of the Black Americans in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBT community. Your honor, I respect you and I respect the jury, but I did not do this and I am not suicidal. And if anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself. And you must all know that. I respect you, your honor. I respect your decision. Jail time… I am not suicidal.” SAD.
