37-year-old ‘Awkward Black Girl’ star Issa Rae is opening up about her new show on HBO Max – ‘Rap Sh!t’
While appearing on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ yesterday, Rae opened up about hiring her favorite rappers to work on the series, saying: “We were able to have a traditional writers room, which was really funny. Brilliant writers, some of them were from Miami. And then, just to be able to have authentic rap—like the music has to be good, they actually have to be good rappers, we got to employ some of my favorite rap artists.”
Rae revealed that she’s so far recruited the likes of PineappleCITI, Ncognita and Dreezy to write original songs for the show. Watch below and let us know what you think!
