41-year-old ‘Girl’s Trip’ actress Tiffany Haddish is publicly slamming the Grammy Awards for refusing to pay her to host the pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony!
Haddish was apparently asked by the Recording Academy to host a 3-hour pre-telecast livestream event without pay and they even refused to cover her wardrobe, hair, or makeup costs!…Haddish says: “All of that would have to come out of my pocket. I don’t know if this might mean I might not get nominated ever again, but I think it’s disrespectful.”
The Recording Academy however quickly retorted, claiming that they are a non-profit organization and so all hosts and presenters have performed without pay. The Academy say: “all hosts, presenters, and performers have traditionally performed gratis, including this year…” Tiffany continues: “I was like, ‘The exposure is amazing but I think I have enough. I appreciate you guys asking.’ And as much as I appreciate the honor of being nominated, that’s not okay.” Tiffany is this year nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album for ‘Black Mitzvah’ on Netflix and she’s also nominated for her spoken word album ‘The Last Black Unicorn.’ The Ceremony is set to take place on January 31 2021.
