26-year-old former One Direction-er Harry Styles has become the first-ever male human being to cover VOGUE Magazine all by himself!
Styles covers the December 2020 issue, and in his accompanying piece he even goes so far as to wear a dress by Gucci! Styles says in his interview: “I like playing dress-up in general. You can never be overdressed…there’s no such thing…” He continues: “The people that I looked up to in music — Prince and David Bowie and Elvis and Freddie Mercury and Elton John –they’re such showmen. As a kid it was completely mind-blowing. Now I’ll put on something that feels really flamboyant, and I don’t feel crazy wearing it. I think if you get something that you feel amazing in, it’s like a superhero outfit. Clothes are there to have fun with and experiment with and play with.”
The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer adds: “When you take away ‘There’s clothes for men and there’s clothes for women,’ once you remove any barriers, obviously you open up the arena in which you can play. I’ll go in shops sometimes, and I just find myself looking at the women’s clothes thinking they’re amazing. It’s like anything — anytime you’re putting barriers up in your own life, you’re just limiting yourself. There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes. I’ve never really thought too much about what it means — it just becomes this extended part of creating something.” Click here to read Harry Styles’ full piece at VOGUE.COM and let us know: DO YOU LIKE PLAYING DRESS-UP JUST LIKE HARRY STYLES TOO???
