H.E.R. dazzled in a white ensemble that made the Eiffel Tower look like a garden gnome while rocking out on stage at Stade de France on Sunday (August 11) in Paris, France. The 27-year-old musical sensation belted out the US national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” during the 2024 Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony.
In an epic mic-drop moment, H.E.R. joined three other California-based legends to assist in the ceremonial handover from Paris to LA, because, apparently, even the Olympics need a dramatic transition.
The 2028 Summer Olympics, set to run from July 14-30, will be the third time Los Angeles has hosted the games, proving that LA loves a good Olympic party more than it loves avocado toast.
“This is the biggest moment in LA28 history so far, as we snatch the Olympic flag from Paris and sprint towards LA,” said LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman. “We’re beyond pumped to show off LA’s finest, with Billie, H.E.R., the Chili Peppers, and Snoop Dogg lighting up the stage. This is going to be a global party you won’t want to miss—except if you’re in Paris, then it’s basically a big farewell bash.”
Earlier that day, H.E.R. gave Instagram a peek at her pre-show antics, sharing photos with a macaroon tower and captioning it, “About to eat the girls up… and this macaroon Eiffel Tower 😂 #LA2028 #olympics.” For the occasion, H.E.R. sported a custom Ralph Lauren look that had everyone in the crowd wondering if they could pull off that much style without accidentally tripping over their own feet.
