Harvey Specter has entered the chat… again. Yes, Gabriel Macht has dusted off the tailored suits, the smug smirks, and that “I-win-even-when-I-lose” energy to reprise his iconic role in Suits LA. And if you thought he’d casually slide back into character with zero emotional damage? LOL. Think again. It was a full-blown “my childhood just punched me in the feelings” moment.
Let’s unpack.
So our boy Gabe, who is now a zesty 53 (and aging like a very expensive whiskey), found himself shooting his very first scenes of the new series at Rancho Park — AKA the exact place where teen Gabriel once practiced his baseball swing and probably got yelled at by a coach named Bob.
“We ended up filming at the park where I used to live out my MLB fantasies,” he told IconicHipster.com, “so yeah, slipping into a baseball uniform was not just ‘oh cool, I’m Harvey again’ — it was also ‘hi, puberty flashbacks.’”
Cue the dad cameo: his actual real-life father, Stephen Macht, strolled by the set for the ultimate throwback Thursday moment. Gabriel literally told him, “If you wanna cry on camera without warning, come to this scene.” And there he was, in the stands, watching his grown son pretend to be a baseball-playing hotshot lawyer — in the exact spot he once watched him flub a pop fly at 14. If that doesn’t scream cinematic closure, I don’t know what does.
“It was so full circle, I almost passed out from the symmetry of it all,” Gabe basically said. “It was nostalgic, sweet, and mildly terrifying.”
Also surprising? It was weirdly easy to slide back into Harvey mode. And no, it’s not because he sleeps in a three-piece suit (we hope). It’s because series creator Aaron Korsh finally chilled out and didn’t write ten-page monologues about mergers and acquisitions in legalese.
“I had, like, two speeches that gave me Harvey PTSD,” Gabriel admitted. “The rest was chill. We vibed.”
Now, let’s talk about Stephen Amell — yes, the dude who used to shoot arrows and brood on Arrow. He plays Ted Black, the new legal hottie in Suits LA. Gabriel didn’t share too many scenes with the new cast (translation: he’s still the Beyoncé of the group), but he gave Amell a chef’s kiss of approval: “Stephen crushed it. No complaints. 10/10, would sue with again.”
So, if you’re craving courtroom drama, designer suits, subtle flexes, and some top-tier nostalgic vibes — Suits LA is airing Sunday nights at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
Now go watch it. Harvey would want you to.
