64-year-old Harvey Weinstein’s new movie THE FOUNDER is out January 20 and after a screening for VIPs in Gstaad, Switzerland, this past weekend – it looks like it may garner an Oscar or ten!
The film tells the story of Ray Kroc, the man who built McDonald’s from an ordinary burger stand in the 1950s to one of the most recognizable brands in the world today. However according to insiders, the film is supposed to be really conversial as reports say that it “touches on questionable methods Kroc used to gain control of the company.” VIPs who saw the movie this past weekend included billionaire Bob Manoukian, Maurice Amon and members of the shipping family Goulandris.
Weinstein has been keeping the movie under wraps ahead of its official release despite McDonald’s attorneys’ requests to see it. The star of the film, Michael Keaton, has been keeping a low profile despite the new project, but an insider explains: “Unfortunately, Michael has had several very close family members and friends pass away this holiday season and has been struggling to promote the film.” Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think:
