32-year-old ‘cellophane’ singer FKA Twigs is currently suing ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf for abuse!
Twigs just filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court against Labeouf; claiming that Shia is guilty of assault, sexual battery, and infliction of emotional distress! In the filing, Twigs claims that after Valentine’s Day in 2019 – Shia was driving recklessly in a car with Twigs before he removed his seatbelt and threatened to crash the car unless she said she loved him.
The two were returning from a trip to the desert where Twigs claims that Shia raged at her throughout and even at one point woke her up and choked her! While in the car, Twigs begged Shia to let her out before he pulled up at a gas station, took out her bags, threw her against the car before forcing her back in! The suit also states that Shia abused her many times during their relationship which began around June 2018 and lasted for a year. Twigs says in her suit that she wishes to raise awareness for how anyone, celebrity or otherwise, can be involved in an abusive relationship. “I’d like to be able to raise awareness on the tactics that abusers use to control you and take away your agency,” she states. She also says that Shia kept a loaded firearm under the bed, and that she was scared to use the bathroom in case he thought she was an intruder and fired! “I just thought to myself, no one is ever going to believe me. I’m unconventional. And I’m a person of color who is a female,” she continues. “The whole time I was with him, I could have bought myself a business-flight plane ticket back to my four-story townhouse in Hackney. He brought me so low, below myself, that the idea of leaving him and having to work myself back up just seemed impossible.”
