In a dazzling display of glitter and glam, Charlize Theron, ageless wonder at 48, sashayed onto the scene as a guest judge on the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Armed with more charisma than a disco ball, she delivered an impassioned speech that could rival any Oscar acceptance speech, and trust me, she’s got a few of those tucked away.
In the midst of all the sequins and lip-sync battles, Charlize took a moment to address the elephant in the room – or should we say, the glittery unicorn? “In the current state of our country, there’s this bizarre energy trying to convince us that the LGBTQ+ community is just a mythical creature, like a unicorn or a fiscally responsible government,” she declared with a twirl that could rival a seasoned drag queen.
Channeling her inner motivational speaker, Charlize continued, “All this commotion is just fear wearing a fabulous disguise. But let me tell you, the beauty your community brings is like finding a 20-dollar bill in last year’s skinny jeans – unexpected, delightful, and absolutely fabulous. So, darlings, don’t let the naysayers rain on your parade. Own it, flaunt it, and remember, glitter is your secret weapon!”
As if that weren’t enough, Charlize wasn’t content with just dropping wisdom on the main stage. In the Drag Race after-show Untucked, she spilled the tea on her parenting tactics with her two daughters – Jackson, who’s basically a pre-teen legend at 11, and August, who’s 7 going on fabulous.
“I’m out here raising the future queens of acceptance,” Charlize proudly declared. “I want my mini-mes to grow up in a world where they can accept everything that’s not them, just like how they accept the fact that bedtime is non-negotiable. Embrace the diversity, sprinkle it with love, and always remember that glitter goes with everything.”
Concerned about the power of words in this age of social media clapbacks and Twitter wars, Charlize added, “We’re living in a world where a hashtag can make or break you. I worry about us, and the havoc we can wreak on each other. Love is a force to be reckoned with, like a unicorn in a china shop, and hate? Well, that’s just the glitter bomb waiting to explode. Let’s choose love, people – it’s the only thing that doesn’t come off with makeup remover.”
Charlize Theron, the drag philosopher we never knew we needed. With her words of wisdom and a twirl that could rival a tornado, she’s making the world a more fabulous place, one glitter-covered truth bomb at a time.
"It's very affirming, as an artist, when our allies share the message of love that we bring when we do this." 💬 Drag performers and the LGBTQ+ community are facing threats to their rights across the country. Learn more at https://t.co/a2mwfUc3h8 pic.twitter.com/cI4MSgB0Bv
