The ‘Gossip Girl’ revival on HBO Max is adding a Broadway star to their cast lineup: Donna Murphy!
The 61-year-old five-time Tony nominee and Broadway favorite has been cast in the show as the school’s headmistress, ‘Gossip Girl’ showrunner Joshua Safran confirmed…Murphy has been on Broadway countless of times as well as television – and played the voice of the Mother Gothel in the 2010 Disney movie ‘Tangled.’
Joshua also reveals that the HBO Max spinoff is aiming to have a special cameo in every episode…he adds: “There’s a fashion event in the pilot, so there are fashion cameos, there’s a charity event in episode 2. There’s a very big cameo in episode three. Big, to me! Luckily that cameo happens to be in New York — we just lucked out — and, frankly, we haven’t shot it yet, so for all I know that cameo could leave New York, and it would be difficult.” He adds that a big music star is also set to star in one of the episodes: “There’s a big musical artist [planned to be] in one of the episodes; we are hoping that is possible…” WHO DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE??? ARE YOU EXCITED?
