Nothing says I love you like a bathtub full of melted cheese. Move over, roses—Benny Blanco just redefined romance in the most dairy-filled way possible.
The 36-year-old music producer decided that traditional Valentine’s Day gifts were for amateurs, so instead of flowers or chocolates, he filled an entire bathtub with liquid queso for his fiancée, 32-year-old Selena Gomez. Because nothing says forever like a giant vat of cheese.
In a now-legendary Instagram post, Benny revealed his gooey grand gesture. The video, set to their new song Scared of Loving You (which, in this case, should be renamed Scared of Lactose Intolerance), showed a trail of tortilla chips leading into the bathroom. And there, in all its golden glory, was a bathtub nearly overflowing with molten queso. If Cinderella had a glass slipper, Selena has a bathtub of cheese—same level of fairytale magic, honestly.
To make things even cheesier (literally and figuratively), Benny spelled out “I <3 YOU" in tortilla chips next to the tub. He then proceeded to dip a chip into the cheese and take a dramatic bite, as if he were the main character in a telenovela titled Amor y Queso.
“When your fiancée isn’t much of a flowers girl,” Benny captioned the post, proving once and for all that Selena is a woman of taste—specifically, nacho cheese taste.
Selena, clearly in queso heaven, commented, “I love everything bout this.. 🥰” which is the appropriate response when your significant other turns your bathroom into a Tex-Mex wonderland.
The couple, who have been serving up relationship goals (and now, apparently, appetizers), recently opened up in a joint interview about their upcoming album, how they met, and Benny’s unforgettable proposal. No word yet on whether that proposal also involved cheese, but at this point, we wouldn’t be surprised.
