70-year-old former Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley is SLAMMING his former boss: the infamous US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour!
In his new memoir titled ‘The Chiffon Trenches,’ Andre writes of Anna, 70: “She’s not capable of simple human kindness and is immune to anyone other than the powerful and famous people who populate the pages of Vogue..” Andre and Wintour had been close friends up until 2016 when he was asked to host a Vogue podcast, and after each episode was paid $500…Talley complained that the $500 was not enough and the podcast was officially ended by Vogue. After Andre asked why, he was told that hosting a podcast was “beneath him” but Talley doesn’t believe that was the case.
Andre continues in ‘The Chiffon Trenches’: “This was clearly a stone-cold business decision. I had suddenly become too old, too overweight, too uncool, I imagined, for Anna Wintour. After decades of loyalty and friendships…Anna should have had the decency and kindness to call me or send me an email saying: ‘‘Andre, I think we have had a wonderful run with your interviews but we are going to try something new.’ She has mercilessly made her best friends people who are the highest in their chosen fields. Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Mr. and Mrs. George Clooney are, to her, friends. I am no longer of value to her…” ‘The Chiffon Trenches’ is set for release on September 8 2020…let us know: WILL YOU READ??? ARE YOU SHOCKED THAT ANNA AND ANDRE COULD EVER HAVE A FALLING OUT?
