Australian ‘Chandelier’ singer SIA, 44, is responding to the immense backlash she’s been receiving for her new movie ‘Music’ starring dancer Maddie Ziegler, 18, and 41-year-old ‘Fool’s Gold’ actress Kate Hudson!
In the trailer for ‘Music’ autistic characters are shown being portrayed by non-autistic people, with Maddie even playing one of the characters with autism. Sia was also criticized for partnering with the organization Autism Speaks which has faced accusations of exploitation in the past.
An angry Sia tweeted yesterday: “Grrrrrrrrrr. F–kity f–k why don’t you watch my film before you judge it? FURY.” She continued, even more angrily: “I cast thirteen neuroatypical people, three trans folk, and not as f–king prostitutes or drug addicts but s as doctors, nurses and singers. F–king sad nobody’s even seen the dang movie. My heart has always been in the right place!” When asked if she researched autism before casting the movie, she responded: “Duh. I spent three f–king years researching, I think that’s why I’m so f–king bummed! Autism speaks came on board long after the film was finished, four years in fact. I had no idea it was such a polarizing group! Autism speaks came on board long after the film was finished, four years in fact. I had no idea it was such a polarizing group!!!!!!” Take a look at the very angry tweets by the ‘Cheap Thrills’ Australian singer below and let us know: DO YOU THINK SIA IS INSENSITIVE TO THE AUTISM COMMUNITY??? SHOULD SHE HAVE BEEN MORE CONSIDERATE TO THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED?!

Sia’s behavior was disgusting and her ableism won’t be tolerated.
