Selena Gomez’s Cosmo Cover: Too Explicit? Parents Say Yes

Former Disney star Selena Gomez covers the new issue of Cosmopolitan, which targets young, hip, and urban women.

But is the content too sexually explicit for Selena’s fans?

Some parents groups say yes.

Lately, we’ve seen younger and younger celebrities grace the cover of the famed women’s magazine.

This reality is witnessed by an alluring image of 17-year-old Dakota Fanning for February.

A controversy among blogosphere pundits shows some concern–similar to their concern about Selena Gomez’ shot that appears on the March cover – the fact that the magazine is not the right venue for these young women, as famous as they are.

Model and actress Nicole Weider has even started a petition against the sale of the issue, saying ”the tips in Cosmo are completely graphic and explicit — things only meant for a porn movie” which are completely inappropriate for Selena’s fans.
