Lana Del Rey will be the musical guest on the first episode of Saturday Night Live of 2012 to promote the release of her debut LP.
She’ll appear on the 1/14 episode, which will be hosted by Daniel Radclifffe.
Born To Die (the album) is a collection of tracks about which Lana says “are an homage to true love and a tribute to living life on the wild side.”
Album tracks include ‘Million Dollar Man’, ‘Off To The Races’, ‘Blue Jeans’ and ‘Carmen’.”
Many indie-blog haters have commented on her meteoric rise to fame, pegging her as a cosmetically augmented poseur who is the oversexed product of major-label Machiavellis, without whom she’d be nothing; hence the future of the “Video Games” singer feels a little uncertain.
She went from mysterious internet phenomenon to the Q awards at such speed you’d suspect even the shadowy management that suppressed her first album and got her to change her name are a bit taken aback.
But, like the criticisms levelled against her it doesn’t seem to matter, at least while the song is playing.
