Advanced Style Inspiration from the Creative Older Set of New York City

AdvancedStyleMain Advanced Style Inspiration from the Creative Older Set of New York City

Growing older need not mean one should lose their sense of style and adoration for all things creative, in fact as proved by a little video by Nowness.com it should be the polar opposite.

Nowness.com is pegged as “the digital leader in luxury storytelling” and it stays true to its slogan by showcasing a set of mature ladies whose sense of style can’t merely be confined to a term like luxurious but is so advanced it would seem like something that could only be pulled off by a model from the pages of Vogue.

These ladies were found through the blog of Ari Seth Cohen called Advanced Style which you can visit here.

Ari spends his days roaming the streets of New York City looking for the most stylish and creative of the older set and showcasing them on his blog.

Watch the presentation by Nowness.com below to see for yourself what we’re on about and be ready to gawk at these absolutely beautiful ladies and their creative sensibilities:

What really captivates us about the video is the fact that these ladies’ sense of style seems so brave, individual, and can be so “anti-fashion” one could only picture someone like Lady Gaga dressing up as such.

“I have my own ideas on what I like and what I think is chic and I dress according to my mood” says one of the ladies in the video when asked to describe what inspires her mode of dress on a daily basis.

If there’s ever a concise word or phrase that could be used to describe these gorgeous women it’s: walking pieces of art.

We’ve watched the video multiple times  just to take into account all of the vibrant colours and accessories being worn so as to understand more about the luxury of being so comfortable with oneself that one need only dress up to express their own creative individuality.

As younger individuals we’ve found that most people belonging to the younger set tend to dress up not to make themselves feel better or to express their own individuality but moreso to conform to a certain propagated image or to impress persons of interest that find certain looks and modes of dress attractive.

So what we can definitely learn from these ladies above is that with maturity we not only realize that impressing others and needing to conform to a certain image is fundamentally useless but it also makes us look ten times more boring.

We can only hope that as we grow older we can dress so creatively daringly and look uber-chic at the same time.
