LanaDelRey 3 Lana Del Rey Overdose: Opens Up About First Love, Shit Lana Del Rey Says, Gets Remixed

Polarizing up-and-coming singer Lana Del Rey may not be so polarizing after her performances on “Saturday Night Live”.

Now she’s just despised.

Even NBC’s Brian Williams couldn’t help but pile on.

Even then this has just added to the hype surrounding her highly anticipated album “Born to Die” set for release on January 31 2012.

Within the span of six months, Lana has risen from a much-discussed blog curio to a major-label recording artist with an anticipated disc (Born to Die, due at the end of the month) waiting in the wings.

Rey has confessed the late Kurt Cobain is her inspiration, stating that she can relate to the former Nirvana frontman.

Speaking to BBC Radio 6 host Huey Morgan about her love for Cobain, the 25-year old revealed: “He was so amazing. I, like everybody else, was under his grunge spell…”

The 25-year-old singer also recently opened up about her first love, and insists her whole body felt different because her feelings for the mystery man were so strong and the emotion inspired her song ‘Off to the Races’.

She said: “When I found somebody who I fell in love with, it made me feel different than I felt the rest of the day. It was electrifying. That’s what inspired the ‘Off to the Races’ melodies. That’s one of the times when you’re feeling electrified by someone else and they make you happy to be alive.”

Rey’s music has inspired a lot of different takes by various artist with Damon Albarn, a man who has some experience making music with cartoon characters, becoming the latest.

Like Clams Casino and Woodkidbefore him, under the pseudonym PDP 13 Albarn has put together a version of LDR’s “Born To Die,” and his version is bass-heavy and six and a half minutes long.
